Did anyone catch Extreme Home Makeover last nigth?

Because if you did, that was my Abby on there! She was one of the cute kids who got to paint bowls and plates for the outdoor fountain. She was the one in pigtails who said she helped the poor kids by giving them toys. It was such an awesome experience for her, and she even got an autographed t-shirt from , the designer who worked with her. We are so proud of her. Daddy's girl

Abby is and has always been a daddy's girl. She will choose him over me almost all of the time. The few exceptions are when she is sick or really nervous about something. This past weekend, Bret took her on a date. The girls love time alone with either one of us, and we are making an effort to give them more of that. It is one of the downfalls of having siblings. You always have to share mom and dad! Abby and her daddy went to daddy's favorite store, Best Buy. From there they went out to lunch. This is a picture of Abby leaving. Guess who lost her first tooth?

Macey lost her first tooth on Saturday. We didn't even know it was loose until she told me her mouth hurt. I checked her mouth out and the tooth was barely hanging on. Abby has lost seven teeth so I am becoming a pro at pulling loose teeth out. Abby loves to get money so the second her teeth loosen up, she is begging me to pull them out. I always refuse to do it unless they are very loose. She doesn't care how much it hurts, she wants that tooth out so the tooth fairy can come. Macey was a different story! We had gone out to eat with my parents Saturday night, and it was at the restaurant that I discovered the tooth. I took her in the bathroom to pull it out because it had started bleeding. Of course, the bathroom was full of people, and Macey was getting nervous about having her tooth pulled. She is not the toughest cookie!!!! Thinking it might be better to wait until we got home, I went back to our table with Macey. By this time, the tooth is bleeding more, and Macey is crying loudly. People were staring at us and an older lady and the next table was giving me dirty looks. I finally grabbed a tissue, told Macey I was gonna clean the blood up and pulled the tooth out. She was furious for about half a second and then got so excited about having a hole in her mouth.

Valentine's Day

Valentines Day is so much fun and so unromantic when you have kids running around. While I might yearn for the occasional, quiet dinner, I wouldn't trade my time with the girls for anything! We usually celebrate at dinnertime. I cook whatever the girls want for dinner, and while I am doing this, they decorate the table. This usually involves a red table cloth, paper lace hearts and lots of stickers. When dinner is done, I leave every ones present on their plate. The girls always have a lot of fun doing it this way. They know that their gift will be there waiting for them, but they always seem to get just as excited as the year before. This year was even more special because we had grandparents around to help celebrate. Here are some pictures of our Valentine dinner. The girls were looking a little bit like street children by that time, but I still think they are cute. :)

I just took a tutorial on how to soften pictures. These are my first attempts at it. I am not sure what I think. They still look blurry to me.

Abby and Macey had Valentine parties at school yesterday. I, of course, forgot my camera. At their new school this year, they must wear uniforms. As a result, the girls weren't dressed up in Valentine outfits like usual. I will get some cute ones tomorrow. Abby's class did sing a song for the parents. They wore mouse ears and sang a song about loving us more than cheese. It was so cute. I took a couple pictures of her with my camera phone. They are awful, and I am almost embarrassed to post them. Here they are anyway.

Super Bowl

Sunday was a really fun day for the family. We started the morning off going to church which we all really enjoyed. The afternoon was spent cleaning and cooking, but not in the frantic way we usually do it when company is coming over. That afternoon, some of our friends came over to watch the game. Our pastor and his wife came over with their three kids who are about the same age as our three. We had five girls and one boy all under the age of 8 running around the house. They had a blast! The only pictures I got were at the end of the evening. Shelby was falling apart so I put her in the bath. It didn't take long before her friend Isaiah had joined her. They were so cute!

At the end of the game, all the kids came running downstairs in nothing but tutus. I guess they ran out of things to do. These pictures are blurry, but they are still cute.

Saturday fun

It has been a while since I last blogged. I came down with what I am fairly sure was the flu. I can't ever remember feeling quite that sick. Fortunately, Bret was around to help a lot, and I managed to not give it to the girls. They had a flu shot which I am sure helped. After being sick for ten days, the girls were ready for some fun! We had a great weekend. My sister Lizzy is getting married in August. Her fiance, David, has a sister and two nieces. On Saturday, we got to meet them for the first time. It took the girls a little while to warm up, but they were best friends by the end of the play date. I had to leave early with Shelby who ended up having a bad ear infection, but my sister stayed with Abby and Macey. These pictures were taken by David after Shelby and I left. Aren't little girls the best!!!
